Breckenridge ski resort is the highest village and highest ski resort in Summit County, Colorado. The village is located at 2,926m and the lifts lead you up to 3,963m providing skiers and boarders with a 1,037m vertical drop.

Originally built to provide accommodation and infrastructure for the gold miners in 1860, it wasn’t until 1961 that Breckenridge became a ski resort. A legacy of its gold rush past is the Victorian style buildings that transform the village of Breckenridge a truly beautiful ski village

Breckenridge ski resort offers more than 187km of terrain suitable for all levels of skiers along with world-renowned terrain parks and half pipes. Together with a state-of-the-art ski and snowboard school it becomes very clear as to why Breckenridge is one of the most popular ski resorts in Nth America.

Breckenridge ski resort begins with easy forest aisle runs and gets steeper and steeper heading up to the bowls. The terrain breakdown is approximately 30% beginner trails, 40% intermediate and 30% for advanced skiers and snowboarders.

Beginners can comfortably learn to ski or board at the base of Peak 8 and 9. Intermediates have their pick of pristine groomed runs as well as intermediate bowls from the new Peak 6 terrain. Expert skiers can ski challenging lines off of the summit of Peak, or get air on one of Breckenridge’s five world-class terrain parks. The terrain options for every skier and boarder are limitless on a Breckenridge ski resort vacation.

Breckenridge ski resort also hosts the Ullr Fest parade. This festival pays homage to the Norse god of snow. Held every January the Ullr Fest is also host to the International Snow Sculpture Championships where sculptors from around the world compete to create works of art from twenty-ton blocks of snow. This festival turns this already stunning ski resort town into a fairly tale providing a ‘must-see’ experience.
