Claviere ski resort lies in a snowy bowl at an altitude of 1,760m on the border between Italy and France. It is centrally situated in western Via Lattea. The resort with its 12 lifts (6 chair lifts, 6 surface lifts) offers skiers an incredible 1,473m (4,833ft) of vertical drop.

Claviere ski resort is part of Via Lattea ski area, also known as the Milky Way Ski Area . Via Lattea ski areas is comprised of the five interconnected ski resorts including Claviere (1,760m), Sansicario (1,700m), Sauze d'Oulx (1,509m), Pragelato (1,518m) and Sestriere (2,035m). And additionally the French resort Montgenèvre(1,850m).

The Via Lattea area was one of the host ski areas for the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics. Many events including both alpine and Nordic skiing as well as bobsleigh, skeleton and luge took place in the Via Lattea.

Claviere ski resort offers an enchanting panorama of immaculate snow under the severe massif of Chaberton, at 3,131m. It is renowned for its excellent snow coverage, short lift queues and uncrowded trails. The terrain breakdown is approximately 20% beginner trails, 60% intermediate and 20% for advanced skiers and snowboarders.

Claviere ski resort is synonymous with wide open spaces. Including snowy expanses, brilliant, panoramic runs that connect traditional villages with modern towns that offer visitors modern comforts and entertainment. With 19 pistes, and vastness and variety of the ski resort will satisfy both expert skiers and people who are skiing for the first time. Specially equipped parks with jumps cater to snowboarders and ski crossers. Expert skiers can also have fun on the mogul runs and freeride terrain.
