Fernie Alpine ski resort is located in the Lizard Range of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Averaging up to 37ft of snowfall a year it offers a different skiing and snowboarding perspective. The village is located at 1,068m and the lifts lead you up to 2,149m providing skiers and boarders with an impressive 1,082m vertical drop. 

In 2012, Fernie Alpine ski resort celebrated 50 years of skiing and riding. With that, the new Polar Peak Triple Chair was installed, bringing the most runs and the most vertical in the Canadian Rockies to the ski area! Since then it has quickly escalated into one of the most popular skiing destinations in North America.

The skiing area has it all. With 142 runs and 2,504 acres of terrain spread over 5 spectacular open bowls, ridges and glades, there is an endless adventure on this mountain. Serviced by 10 lifts, the varied terrain at Fernie Alpine ski resort creates a real mountain playground that appeals to skiers & riders of all ages and abilities. Deep in the snow and high up on the Powder Highway, Fernie Alpine ski resort has endless downhill thigh burning runs. It has a terrain park and an even spread of trails for all ability levels. The terrain breakdown is approximately 30% beginner trails, 41% intermediate and 29% for advanced skiers and snowboarders.

Fernie Alpine ski resort also features groomed Nordic ski trails and snowshoe trails for a day off the trails or for those in your group who don't ski. Fernie’s base area village continues to develop & expand, and has an excellent variety of quality on-mountain properties to choose from.
