Sestriere ski resort is located in Piedmont, Italy. With a peak elevation of 2,823m, it offers skiers and snowboarders a 788m vertical drop.  In 2006 Sestriere ski resort hosted the Winter Olympic Games and the Winter Paralympics and it continues to regularly host international alpine world cup events.

Sestriere ski resort sits at the heart of one of Europe’s biggest ski areas known as the Via Lattea (Milky Way). Via Lattea includes 5 ski resorts with a combined total of 933km of terrain, including almost 600 individual trails. Together they offer 175 ski lifts accessible on the 1 lift ticket. The other ski resorts that make up Via Lattea include Montgenèvre, Clavière, Sansicario, Sauze d'Oulx.

On its own Sestriere ski resort offers 390 km of trails. 46% (180 km) of the total terrain ideal for beginners, 29% (112 km) suitable for intermediate skiers and 25% (97 km) for the more advanced and expert level skiers and snowboarders. This is all easily accessible with 71 ski lifts.

There are 146 skiable trails of which 120 are supported with snowmaking. Two northwest facing peaks bisect the ski area. A gondola provides easy access out of Sestriere ski resort into the rest of the ski system.

Sestriere ski resort is lively with many overseas visitors giving an international atmosphere. Leisure activities include trips to see torch lit descent, indoor swimming pool, leisure center and wine tasting. It features regularly in the Tour de France and the Giro d’Italia. It's popular with cyclists challenging themselves on the same roads that the best cyclists in the world race up.

Sestriere ski resort isn’t just a winter resort. In the summer, it is possible to play golf on Europe’s highest 18-hole course. More recently it has seen a huge increase in the number of mountain bikers coming out to enjoy the trails. It is part of the Alpi bike resort which offers a concentrated mix of some of the best riding in Europe.
