Sun Valley ski resort is located in Idaho, United States. It is the oldest ski resort in the US. Its highest elevated peak is 9,150ft offering skiers and snowboarders a 3,400ft of vertical drop. Sun Valley ski resort offers 46mi of trails with 38% (16 mi) of the total terrain ideal for beginners, 43% (19 mi) for intermediate skiers and 19% (10 mi) for the more advanced and expert level skiers and snowboarders. This is all accessible with 19 ski lifts.

There are two distinct ski mountains. Bald Mountain and Dollar Mountain. Bald Mountain offers a mixed terrain. It features a modern lift infrastructure and a well-designed trail system. There are plenty of great wide cruisers that seem endless. There are also plenty of runs to entertain advanced skiers, including some backcountry territory on the back face of the mountain. The other skiing and snowboarding area is Dollar Mountain, a treeless beginners’ area that also has a tubing park.

The seasons in Sun Valley ski resort may change, but one thing never varies: the mountains come with a to-do list as tall as they are. Winter slopes and summer escapes, adrenaline junkies and solitude seekers, simple pleasures and luxurious indulgences.

Sun Valley ski resort is idyllic in the summer. It offers unheard-of low humidity, temperatures in the 80s, bountiful sunshine, and expansive campus that never seems crowded. Hiking trails are free, and range from the very easily walkable and well-marked bike trails to the meandering trails up Bald Mountain.
