Whitewater has an interesting history worth sharing. Their first ski lodge was opened in 1934 and they used an ancient Model-T Ford to power their first ski lift. Back in the 19030’s skiing was on bear trap bindings and the long wooden skis. But the skiing bug stuck and in 1974, local residents created a coalition and started looking for a more suitable location for the ski resort. Finally, the beautiful Whitewater ski resort was opened in 1976.

Whitewater ski resort offers more than 50km of terrain suitable for skiers of all levels along with the most beautiful scenic views. Together with epic powder snowfalls and the state-of-the-art ski lifts that they have today, it becomes apparent as to why it is very popular ski resort.

Whitewater is more suitable for intermediate and advanced level skiers, with about 60% of their runs being advanced and expert level. The breakdown of total trails is approximately 5% beginner trails, 32% intermediate and 47% for advanced and 11% for expert skiers and snowboarders.

Offering legendary chutes, glades, bowls and incredible powder Whitewater ski resort is a powder playground for the more advanced skiers. For beginners and more intermediate skiers and boarders Whitewater ski resort offers an excellent ski school program to help you conquer the more advanced trails and explore more the mountain offering.

On and off the mountain Whitewater ski resort is full of high quality action and entertainment. In 2011, Whitewater’s cafeteria was rated #2 by Ski Magazine. They offer a stellar range of events and festivals throughout the season along with fine dining and a good nightlife.
